ONA/Pride Sunday:  June 30 is the last Sunday of Pride Month and Open and Affirming Sabbath in the United Church of Christ. NMCC’s ONA Committee is sponsoring special speaker, author Jillian Celentano, LMSW (she/her). Jillian is a woman of trans experience who transitioned at the age of 55. After she transitioned, she realized her life’s mission was to help others and her community. She returned to college and earned her masters degree in Social Work to become a therapist for the transgender and gender diverse population.

Jillian interned at the Yale Gender Program in New Haven for two years and continues to be a community liaison for the Yale Gender Program. She works with the transgender/gender diverse community of all ages and runs support groups for youth and parents. Jillian has co-authored two published transgender studies at Yale University and is a Community Liaison at the Yale Gender Program. She is a therapist at Twin Peaks Counseling in Derby, CT and educator for the transgender and gender diverse community. Her book is Transitioning Later in Life: A Personal Guide and is in our ONA library in Friendship Hall.
