Families with Children

All children and families are welcome and cherished at NMCC.  The church provides a comprehensive Christian Education program for kindergarten through senior high school. We encourage our children to join us in the Sanctuary to hear the Children’s Message before leaving together for Children’s Church.

Visiting for the first time? Please inform an Usher or Deacon that you are new and that you’d like to be introduced to our Chair of CE & Youth Groups, Rene Chin.

For complete details on the Children and Youth Ministries program, including age breakdowns and class times and locations, visit the Youth page.

Babies and Toddlers:  For families with babies and toddlers, after the Children’s Message the Nursery will be staffed by an adult and a helper for anyone wishing to bring their little one.  It is always available to anyone needing a place for a diaper change, feeding or quiet time.   There are diapers, a changing table, toys, and a comfy rocking chair to help make families and little ones feel at home.

Baptisms

Through the sacrament of Christian baptism, we are affirmed as children of God and welcomed into the community and care of North Madison Congregational Church.    It symbolizes the cleansing forgiveness that is ours through Jesus and reminds us that God’s love is a gift, freely offered to all who will receive it.   Details of the ceremony can be found on our baptism page.

Baptism is offered throughout the year for people of all ages, scheduled at the convenience of the individual and family.  More details about what Baptisms at North Madison Congregational Church a.  To discuss baptism with our minister, please call the church at 203-421-3241.

Confirmation Class

We provide a year-long Confirmation program for youth.  Most of the participants are 8th and 9th graders, although high schoolers are also welcomed.  Our program guides young people in exploring their faith and prepares them to affirm their faith through the rite of confirmation.   The confirmation class is led by the pastor and several adult and youth mentors.  It includes discussions, a retreat and regular meetings with an adult mentor.  For more information, contact: jim@jimlatimer.org  or visit our Confirmation page.
