Our Typical Day

A typical day for a preschooler here at Circle Nursery School begins with arrival time.  The teachers will rotate table top materials such as games, play dough, and fine motor manipulatives and allow the children to quietly explore them at their own pace as they transition from home to school.

The next step will be a large group meeting time to discuss the weekly topic, our calendar,  and assign our daily helpers!  The class will then stay together in the large group for a lesson or activity, or break into small groups for learning stations.

A short break for bathrooms/hand washing and then a snack will usually follow.  A large amount of time is then allotted for free play and the opportunity to do an art activity or science project.

After clean up time, the group will head outdoors (or the big room if raining) for some gross motor play!  After that there is usually a Skill time and Story time.  Lastly, we wash up for lunch!
